Pest Control in Deeside

Deeside is an area in Flintshire on the southern bank of the Dee Estuary, stretching from Connah's Quay and Shotton through to Queensferry and the Deeside Industrial Park. The area has a mix of housing types, from the older terraces in the established communities of Connah's Quay and Shotton to newer estates on the fringes and the industrial park is one of the largest employment zones in North Wales. The estuary and the River Dee bring constant rat activity to the area. Rats live along the riverbanks, in the marshes and in the drainage systems of the older streets and properties close to the water are the most affected. The industrial park's food waste and the commercial premises along the main roads add to the problem and we handle rat control calls across the whole of Deeside throughout the year.

The older terraced streets in Connah's Quay and Shotton have the same issues as terraces anywhere: shared walls, cavity construction and aging brickwork that gives mice multiple routes into properties. Mouse problems are common here and they tend to run through whole rows of houses where the party walls are not properly sealed. On the newer estates, mice still find their way in through gaps around service entries and under poorly sealed doors and the proximity of the estuary marshes means there is always a supply of rodents nearby.

Wasp nests are a regular summer issue across Deeside, found in loft spaces, under fascia boards and in the ground along garden edges. The warmer, sheltered spots behind buildings on the industrial park are also common nesting sites. Wasp removal is something we handle quickly, usually on the day we are called or the next.
