Queen's Park is a residential neighbourhood in the City of Westminster, centred on the park that gives it its name and the streets of Victorian terraces that surround it. The area sits between Kilburn, Kensal Rise and Maida Vale and it has become increasingly popular with families drawn by the village atmosphere and the open green space. The park itself is compact but well used and the mature trees and planted borders attract grey squirrels that spread into the loft spaces of the houses around its edges. The older trees along Chevening Road and Kilburn Lane provide routes for squirrels to reach rooflines and once they find a gap in the soffit or a slipped tile they will set up home in the roof void.

The housing in Queen's Park is predominantly Victorian terraced, with rows of two-storey houses lining the streets in every direction. Many have been converted into flats, especially the larger properties and this conversion is where mouse problems take root. The internal subdivisions create new cavities and break the original flow of the building and mice use these altered spaces to move between units. Wasp nests are a common summer complaint in the Victorian terraces, where the fascia boards, soffits and roof spaces provide sheltered nesting spots. Queen's Park is a lovely area to live in and the pest work here is about keeping the Victorian housing in the condition this increasingly sought-after neighbourhood deserves.
