Wormley is a residential area between Broxbourne and Hoddesdon, sitting on the western side of the Lea Valley. The village has grown considerably from its original core around Wormley Primary School and the Church Lane area, with post-war estates and more recent developments now surrounding the older centre. The housing mix includes Victorian and Edwardian cottages, inter-war semis and rows of post-war terraced and semi-detached houses. That variety of building ages and types means pest issues come in different forms depending on which part of Wormley you are in. During summer, wasp nests are a regular issue across the area, with garden sheds, fascia boards and loft spaces all providing sheltered nesting spots. The combination of a settled residential community, waterside location and nearby woodland makes Wormley an area where keeping on top of pest issues is just part of the routine.
