Pest Control in Sandbach

Sandbach is a market town in the CW11 postcode area in the Cheshire countryside between Crewe and Congleton. The town is known for its cobbled market square with the ancient Saxon crosses and the surrounding streets have a pleasant mix of older brick buildings and more modern housing. The Trent and Mersey Canal passes along the edge of town and the River Wheelock runs through the southern outskirts. Both waterways contribute to local pest activity. Rats follow water and the canal and river provide natural routes for them to move between the countryside and residential areas. Gardens backing onto the canal towpath are the most commonly affected and we regularly find rat burrows along fence lines and under decking in these properties.

The older houses in the town centre around the High Street and Congleton Road produce a good number of mouse call-outs. The brick and stone buildings here have aged over the years and small gaps around windows and where extensions have been added give mice easy access. Further out the newer estates including the large developments to the north of town see mouse issues linked to construction disturbance. When fields are dug up and built on the mice that were living there have to go somewhere and they often end up in the nearest finished houses.

Wasp nests are treated throughout the summer months across Sandbach. The mix of older roof spaces in the centre and garden outbuildings on the estates means there are always plenty of potential nesting sites. The surrounding farmland also means that seasonal pests connected to agriculture like grain weevils and stored product insects can sometimes find their way into homes near the edges of town. Sandbach is a growing town and as it expands the interface between new housing and the countryside continues to create new pest control needs.
