Pest Control in South Shields

South Shields sits at the mouth of the River Tyne, a town shaped by its long history of shipbuilding, coal and fishing. The mix of terraced streets running back from the seafront, the busy town centre around King Street and the riverside industrial areas all create different pest pressures. The older terraces in areas like Laygate and Westoe are tightly packed and rats move easily between properties through shared drains and the gaps where old coal chutes once connected to cellars. Rat problems in these streets often affect several houses at once because the animals travel along the Victorian sewer network that connects the whole neighbourhood.

The seafront and pier area brings its own issues. Wasps build nests in the roof spaces and wall cavities of the older semi-detached houses through the Harton and Simonside areas each summer and we are called out to deal with nests across the town from late spring right through to October.
