Pest Control in Whitley Bay

Whitley Bay is a classic North East seaside town, stretched along the coast between Cullercoats and St Mary's Lighthouse. The seafront properties and guest houses along the Promenade deal with gull problems every breeding season, with herring gulls and lesser black-backed gulls nesting on rooftops and chimney stacks from April through to August. These birds get aggressive when they have chicks, diving at people walking below and creating a mess of droppings on paths, cars and shopfronts. The cafes and takeaways along the seafront and around the Spanish City dome keep the birds well fed all summer long.

Away from the coast, the residential streets running back through the town are a mix of Edwardian terraces, 1930s semis and newer builds. The older properties around Whitley Road and Park Avenue have the usual issues that come with houses of that age. Mice get in through gaps where original sash windows have shrunk in their frames and through the spaces where gas meters and external pipes pass through walls. Rats are more of a problem in the back lanes behind the terraces, where bin storage areas and overgrown yards provide cover and food. The network of Victorian drains beneath these streets is another route rats use to move around.

The green spaces around Marden Quarry and Brierdene provide attractive habitat for wildlife but also support grey squirrels and field mice that move into nearby homes when the weather turns cold. Wasp nests are common through summer in the roof spaces and wall cavities of houses across all parts of Whitley Bay and we also deal with flea cases in properties where carpets have been left untreated after pets have been in residence.
