Lower Green is a small community near Esher, tucked in among the leafy roads and generous plots that define this part of Surrey. The area is mostly residential with well-spaced houses sitting in large gardens, many with mature trees, hedges and shrubberies that have been growing for decades. That kind of dense garden planting gives mice and rats plenty of cover to move around without being seen. We always advise residents to keep compost enclosed and bird food off the ground where possible. Squirrels are another regular visitor to lofts in this area, dropping down from overhanging branches onto roofs and finding their way in through gaps in the soffit boards or under tiles.

Wasp nests in summer are one of the most common reasons people around Lower Green call us. The gardens here are big enough that a nest can build up to full size before anyone realises it is there, whether it is in a hedge, a garden shed or under the eaves of the house.
