Stocks Green is a small hamlet in the TN postcode area of Kent, tucked into the wooded countryside of the High Weald near Leigh and Hildenborough. A handful of properties sit along quiet lanes surrounded by fields, ancient woodland and the hedgerow-lined landscape that gives this part of Kent its beauty. The pest pressures here are rural in nature. Rats live in the surrounding farmland, along the streams and in the hedgerows and they move towards properties when food sources are available. Compost bins, bird feeders, fallen fruit and stored animal feed all draw them in and the outbuildings and sheds that most rural properties have give rats shelter close to the house.
