Stowting Common sits on the higher ground above Stowting village on the North Downs, a scattered collection of houses and smallholdings along the lanes that wind across the top of the escarpment. The common land that gives it its name has been enclosed for a long time, but the area still has an open, exposed feel with wide views and rough grazing land.
