Pest Control in Newport

Newport is the third largest city in Wales, built around the tidal River Usk and stretching from the Gwent Levels in the south to the hillsides of Rogerstone and Bassaleg in the north. The river is a major factor in the city's pest control needs. The Usk has a huge tidal range and as the water drops it exposes banks of mud and debris that rats use for feeding and shelter. The Gwent Levels to the south of the city are a network of drainage ditches and reens that create perfect rat habitat right on the doorstep of the southern housing areas. The M4 corridor and the industrial estates at Celtic Springs and Imperial Park also bring commercial pest control demands. Wasp nests are common across all parts of the city through summer and bed bug cases have increased in recent years in the more transient accommodation areas near the city centre, reflecting a national trend.
